The new leader of the DigiDestined is Motomiya Daisuke. If you think he looks a lot like Taichi, that's because Taichi is his hero! They're in the same soccer club and Daisuke really looks up to the older boy. Daisuke used to wear goggles similar to Taichi's, but when Taichi found out that Daisuke was one of the new DigiDestined, he gave him his own goggles which Daisuke now wears with pride. There must be something about the Yagami family, because not only does Daisuke look up to Taichi, but he has a huge crush on Hikari! When Takeru moves to Odaiba and starts acting friendly with Hikari, Daisuke just about explodes with jealousy. Hikari's pretty sharp and knows that Daisuke likes her, but she's such a tease, she makes a point of agreeing with Takeru over Daisuke and it makes the poor guy crazy

Although he's the youngest, Hida Iori is usually the one who manages to talk the others out of doing something stupid. He's also the one who makes sure that they come back from the DigiWorld in time for dinner so that they don't worry their parents. Although he doesn't look like the athletic type, Iori studies kendo, traditional Japanese fencing. Despite the fact that they're total opposites, he and Miyako are good friends and live in the same apartment building.

Koushirou isn't the only DigiDestined who's into computers. Inoue Miyako is also a member of the computer club. But it's not just computers, she loves anything mechanical. Miyako is a bit spoiled and flighty, she might remind you of Mimi. In fact, when she finally gets to meet Mimi, she feels she's found a soulmate! Because her family owns a convenience store, Miyako is always the one to provide snacks for the DigiDestined on their trips to the DigiWorld. Athough she is the oldest of the new DigiDestined, she is the baby of her family and that hasn't taught her much responsibility.

Takeru is no longer the same shrimpy little crybaby he was when we first met him. He's gotten quite tall and is the star of the basketball team. Girls are always after him, but he doesn't seem very interested. In the first episode of 02, he and his mom have moved back to Odaiba, but his parents did not get remarried. Although Daisuke sees Takeru as a rival, Takeru would just as soon be friends with the other boy.
