The digimon emperor has now decided to take over the frozen wasteland part of the digiworld. There he has the Gazimon work and work. Gomamon is also there and he disobeys the emperor. The digimon emperor tells that whoever beats up Gomamon will win a prize. Hearing this, all the Gazimon attack Gomamon. The prize was being a slave to the digimon emperor. He then left Gomamon in the snow to freeze. Luckly Gomamon had enough strength to walk to the nearest TV to contact Joe. Back at the real world, Joe was about to take an exam when he got a message from Gomamon. Knowing his friend was in danger, Joe decided to skip the exam and go to the digital world.

Davis and the others were planning to go to the digital world also but Cody didn't want to miss a Kendo practice. Everyone is at the computer room except Cody when Joe walks in. Joe tells everyone that Gomamon sent him a distress signal. Right before they go into the digiworld, Cody shows up. In the digital world, they end up in a very cold place. Joe hands everyone a hand warmer but Yolei drops hers since she can't open it. When she picks it up she sees Gomamon in the snow. Everyone helps and digs Gomamon out. Joe sees if Gomamon is ok since he looks all beat up. They also notice a control spire in the distance but it would be hard to get there because of the snow. Davis suggests that they build a sled. After building the sled, they tie the digimon onto it so they could pull the sled. They are about to reach the control spire when they see some Frigimon guarding it. Joe remembers that the frigimon are not very fast so they have the digimon run past them. The digimon emperor gets smart and has the Frigimon hit a mountain and an avalanche comes towards the digidestined. The digimon swerve to the left and they run over a canyon landing on the other side. The digimon come to another cliff only this time when they turn everyone falls off but Cody falls into off the cliff. Gomamon goes after him to save him.

Everyone finds shelter in a cave and Cody warms up there. The rest of the digidestined think it would be best if they continued on to destroy the Control spire. Joe voluteers to stay behind and watch Cody. After the other leave, the digimon emperor suddenly shows up with Shellmon. Armidillomon armor digivolves to Digmon and destroys the dark ring. Suddenly, a lobster like digimon, Ebidramon appears out of nowhere and drags digmon under water.
